Privacy Policy

By visiting annanavinyoung.com, you are consenting to this privacy policy. This privacy notice only applies to information collected through this website. I am committed to protecting your privacy and personal information. If you ever have any questions regarding this policy, please contact me here.

How I Collect and Use Your Information

I only have access to personal information you voluntarily provide, either through email or through other direct contact. I will not sell or rent this information to anyone. The purpose of collecting this information is to respond to you with regards to the reasons you contacted me. I will not share your information with any third party outside our organization, except for circumstances that are necessary to fulfill your request.

If you subscribe to my email list, I will store your information in my secure email marketing platform, and may reach out to you via email to share information that I think will be useful and interesting. You will always have the options to unsubscribe from this mailing list, if you want to stop receiving emails from me. You can also contact me at any time with the subject line “Please remove me from your email list” and I will manually remove you.

I will store your personal information for as long as is necessary and relevant to provide the services and information you have requested.

On the rare occasion, I may be required (by subpoena or other legal action) to grant access to your personal information to an unrelated third party.

Comments

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. This is simply part of my commitment to keeping my website safe and purposeful for your use.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on this site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Links and Content From Other Websites

I may include links to other sites in reference to things I’m discussing or suggesting for further reading or review. Be aware that I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these other sites. I encourage you to view the privacy policy and terms of use on any websites you visit when you leave my site.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How Your Data is Retained

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your Access and Control Over Your Information

You can choose at any time to opt out of receiving further contact from me. Please contact me to terminate our contact, inquire about the information I have about you, update or correct the information I have about you, or express concerns about the use of your information. I may not be able to completely abide by your request if it includes any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Security

I do my best to keep your personal information protected from misuse or unauthorized access.

When I collect sensitive information, that information is transmitted in a secure way – please verify this by looking for the lock icon in the address bar and the “https” at the beginning of the address of the webpage.

Please contact me if you ever have concerns.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), I do not knowingly collect or solicit data online from, or market online to, children under 13 years of age.

California Online Privacy Protection Act

I am required under this law to provide a privacy policy on our website. My privacy policy will be available on all pages of the website.

Changes To This Policy

I reserve the right to update or change this Privacy Policy at any time. If I do make any changes to this Privacy Policy, I will notify you through the email address you have voluntarily provided, or through prominent notification on this website. You acknowledge and agree that you have reviewed this Privacy Policy in its present state.
